We live in a time when we have a right to choose – to choose where do we want to go, what do we want to eat or do, and to choose who we want to lead our companies, clubs, organizations, etc. We do that by voting for people that we consider are the right ones. Since we live in the 21st century, we now can vote online. But, there are questions – should we vote online and why?
To do online vote is more convenient that to go to polling locations, to spend your time in standing in lines and waiting your turn to vote. Voting online is more comfortable because you can do it while you are sitting in your favorite chair, in the comfort of your home. Polling places may be designed well and well distributed, but no place is convenient like your home is, right? And it’s much quicker and simpler, too.
Voting online is a great way for communities to save some money. There is no need for voting booths, expensive machines and everything that comes with it. Votes are being summarized much quicker when you vote online, and there’s no way for secret ballots to get lost by senior citizens who have to travel to their polling booths just to vote because special digital ballots are being used for voting online.
Voting sites are made to be simple so that people can use them without any fuss and confusion. The only thing you should do is to register yourself on the site, check a few boxes on a form you have to fill and to press the button that confirms your vote.
A few negative things are related to online voting. The first is that senior citizens, who do not use internet and computers, have to go to polling locations to do the voting. The second is that machines (that are used for elections) and companies that have made them, soon, won’t have to be used anymore, which could upset local polling booth committees. But, it is known that every year more countries start to use online voting, such as United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, France, Estonia, etc.
Elections that are held in some organizations, churches, businesses, schools, clubs, associations, use online voting. As a part of the organization where elections are being held, you should inform yourself about how to hold an online election. It is much cheaper and easier, and you can get results of an election fast. Every online voting system represents a trusted provider that makes your online voting secured and safe.
If you are in an association, organization, club or business, you should consider having electronic voting in the upcoming election. As we have already mentioned, it is much easier, cheaper and faster to do it on your computer, than to go to polling booths and to spend your precious time in lines, waiting your turn to vote. Either way, a day will come when every election is going to be held online.
